A Five-Part Experiential Study of Michael A. Singer’s The Untethered Soul

Awareness. Energy. Freedom. A chance to experience the teachings, not only read about them.

Join Jenn Brooks and Brittany Tackett for a five-workshop journey through one of the most beloved books on consciousness, inner freedom, and our relationship with the mind.

Together, we’ll explore the teachings through conversation, reflection, breathwork, somatic practice, meditation, and beginner-friendly Group Awareness Exercise.

Five-Workshop Series Begins October 25 [ JOIN THE FIVE-PART JOURNEY ]

What Does It Mean to Live Untethered?

Most of us relate to the experience of getting caught in the voice in our head.

Replaying a conversation. Anticipating what could happen next. Protecting ourselves from discomfort. Holding tightly to experiences we wish had been different.

In The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer invites us to begin noticing all of this from another place: The awareness that can witness what is happening without becoming completely consumed by it.

Living Untethered is an opportunity to spend time with these teachings slowly and experientially.

Across five workshops, we’ll move through the five major sections of the book, allowing each gathering to become its own exploration of consciousness, energy, resistance, surrender, and freedom.

We’ll talk about what we’re reading. We’ll ask questions. We’ll explore what resonates and what challenges us.

And then we’ll bring the conversation into lived experience.

Through breath, the body, meditation, awareness, relationship, and shared inquiry, we’ll explore what these teachings actually feel like when we practice them.

Five Gatherings. One Continuing Journey.

1. Awakening Consciousness

Oct 25 | Witnessing the Mind | Beginning with one of Singer’s foundational invitations: Becoming aware of the voice within without automatically following everything it says.

We’ll explore witnessing, awareness, identification, and the possibility of creating a little more space around our thoughts and inner narratives.

2. Experiencing Energy

Nov 15 Opening the Heart | What causes us to open? What causes us to close?

This gathering explores how energy moves through the body, how we protect ourselves around past experiences, and what it can mean to meet life with greater openness.

3. Freeing Yourself

Dec 6 | Meeting Fear, Pain & Resistance | Here we begin exploring the places where we tighten, brace, avoid, control, or hold on.

Through discussion and embodied practice, we’ll become curious about our relationship with discomfort and what may become available when we can stay present with ourselves.

4. Going Beyond

Jan 10 | Letting Go of the Walls | Singer asks us to notice the structures we build around ourselves in the name of safety and certainty.

This workshop explores surrender, expansion, and the possibility of loosening some of the inner boundaries that limit how fully we experience life.

5. Living Life

Jan 31 | Living Freely | Our final gathering brings the journey into everyday life.

How do we live with greater presence, openness and trust? How do we remain connected to ourselves when life is changing around us?

We’ll close by exploring freedom as an ongoing lived practice.

What To Expect…

Gatherings are woven together with:

  • Guided exploration of the each section of The Untethered Soul

  • Conversation and shared inquiry

  • Somatic and body-based awareness practices

  • Breathwork and meditation

  • Beginner-friendly Group Awareness Exercise

  • Time for personal reflection and integration

No previous experience with breathwork, somatics, meditation, or GAE is needed.

Bring your book, your curiosity, and a willingness to notice what unfolds.

What is Group Awareness Exercise?

Group Awareness Exercise, or GAE, is a facilitated relational awareness practice that invites us to notice our present-moment experience while in connection with others.

For this series, GAE will be offered in an accessible, beginner-friendly way. There is nothing to perform or accomplish. The practice is an opportunity to become curious about what we notice within ourselves while sharing space with a group.
