Experiencing the Elements Within
Join Ayurvedic practitioner and medical doctor Dr. Julie Hare and breathwork facilitator Jenn Brooks for an immersive exploration of Ayurveda, the five elements, and the doshas that shape our experience of life.
Ayurveda, often called the "Science of Life," teaches that everything in nature is composed of five elemental forces: Earth, water, fire, air, and space. These elements combine to form the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—the fundamental patterns that influence our physical health, energy, emotions, digestion, sleep, relationships, and overall well-being.
Each of us carries all three doshas, yet in a uniquely individual proportion. Understanding this personal constitution is one of the foundations of Ayurvedic wisdom, offering insight into why we respond to life the way we do and how we can create greater balance through daily choices.
During this workshop, Dr. Julie will guide participants through the essential principles of the doshas and explore how these elemental forces are expressed not only within our bodies but throughout the natural world. From the seasons and times of day to the stages of life itself, Ayurveda offers a fascinating lens through which to understand our relationship with nature and our own innate rhythms.
Jenn will then lead an integrative breathwork experience designed to bring these teachings into direct embodied awareness. Through breath, sensation, and guided reflection, participants will have the opportunity to experience the qualities of earth, water, fire, air, and space within themselves and explore how the doshas may be expressed through the body, breath, and nervous system.
All participants will receive a dosha assessment survey to help identify their own unique constitutional tendencies and continue exploring Ayurvedic wisdom beyond the workshop.
Whether you are new to Ayurveda or looking to deepen your understanding, this workshop offers a welcoming blend of education, self-discovery, and embodied experience.
You Will Learn:

• The five elements and how they create the doshas

No prior experience with Ayurveda or breathwork is necessary. All are welcome.
Optional Private Ayurvedic Experience with Dr. Julie
For those wishing to deepen their experience beyond the workshop, Dr. Julie will be offering a limited number of private Shirodhara sessions.
Shirodhara: Rest Beneath the River
Imagine a warm river of oil flowing gently across your forehead as your body softens, your breath deepens, and your mind settles into stillness.
Shirodhara is one of Ayurveda's most revered therapies, designed to soothe the nervous system, calm mental activity, and invite profound restoration. Using a continuous stream of warm, herb-infused oil poured across the forehead and scalp, this practice offers a rare opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and enter a state of deep peace.
Traditionally used to support balance, relaxation, and restful sleep, Shirodhara is often sought by those experiencing stress, overwhelm, mental fatigue, or simply a desire to reconnect with a deeper sense of ease and well-being.
For this special offering, Dr. Julie will use a custom-crafted blend of herb-infused, cold-pressed sesame oil selected to nourish and support the body's natural capacity for restoration. The remaining oil will be bottled for you to take home. This can be used for a head-to-toe application, also known as abhyanga, a core Ayurvedic practice for soothing dosha imbalance.
Each session also includes gentle marma point therapy on the hands and feet, along with a soothing scalp massage, creating a complete experience of grounding, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Session Length: Approximately 45 minutes
Investment: $125
Space is limited, and advance registration is recommended.
About Dr. Julie…
Julie Hare, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who lives with her family on an off-grid mountain farm and practices Integrative Medicine in Marlinton, WV.
Her personal and professional life path led her beyond the conventional Western medicine she was trained in to include the ancient Indian system called Ayurveda, modern Functional Medicine, herbalism, and most recently, energy medicine. If she had a specialty, she would say it is “chronic disease”. Determining what fundamentally shifts a person away from health and how to address this on an individual basis is her passion. Healing happens on many levels; therefore, more than one approach is often necessary.
Dr. Hare is the owner and operator of Allegheny Integrative Medicine LLC, a Direct Primary Care practice. You can find her and learn much more about her practice through her website: Allegheny Integrative Medicine
